Vivarium 10 x 2.5 x 2.5 feet at Bangalore
I'm thrilled to share this proud moment with you!
Our team at Greengrapesstudios has designed and created Bangalore's largest vivarium, a breathtaking, self-sustaining ecosystem within a glass container.Inspired by nature, we carefully curated an exquisite landscape using diverse plants, moss, rocks, driftwood, and other natural elements.
This miniature forest is teeming with life, springtails and carnivorous plants that maintain a delicate balance, mimicking real-world habitats.Witnessing this thriving ecosystem flourish within our creation is truly fulfilling. I'm overjoyed to have played a part in crafting an authentic, miniature world that not only inspires wonder but also promotes sustainability.
"I'm honored to mention that this incredible vivarium is housed at FIDE, co-founded by Nandan Nilekani , Dr.Pramod Varma and Sujath Nair .This milestone project is a testament to the power of collaboration and shared passion for creating something extraordinary.
I'm Grateful to have had the opportunity to work with FIDE and contribute to their legacy.
Vivarium after 11 months
Even once a vivarium is completed, the work is not truly finished.
Our strong connection to nature and our respect for its balance—light, water, and moisture control—mean that maintaining a vivarium requires deep knowledge of how real ecosystems function. To sustain a healthy vivarium, we must continuously prune, trim, fertilize, and occasionally add new plants. By making small, thoughtful adjustments over time, we can gradually enhance both the balance and the beauty of the vivarium throughout the year
Vivarium 5 x 5 x 8 Feet at Hyderabad
This vivarium is entirely different from the previous one.
The concept is inspired by the Amazon Rainforest, where our main focus is on creating a unique piece of artwork.
The abstract beauty of the driftwood is the central element, highlighted by its fine details and the sense of depth created when plants and moss are attached to it.
We have incorporated 10 to 15 types of ferns, including more exotic varieties that originate from different habitats.
Once the planting is completed, the vivarium needs one to two weeks to settle.
The appearance of new leaves is a clear sign of healthy growth and successful establishment.
